Experience Privacy and Intimacy with a Mountain Cabin Rental
Each summer, a large number of individuals flock to the “hottest,” vacation destinations. Popular summer vacation destinations often include coastal beaches. To many individuals, a beach vacation seem ideal, but it is the lack of privacy that does not. Whether you are vacationing with your family, friends, or your romantic partner, you may want to consider cabin rentals in the mountains.
Mountain cabin rentals are similar to costal cottages. The only difference is their location and, sometimes, the name. Mountain rentals are often referred to as cabins. Mountain cabin rentals are located in many portions of the United States. One of the reasons why they are so popular is because they can create a safe, fun, private, and romantic environment.
While most mountain cabin rentals are private, most are located within a short driving distance or walking distance to a popular attraction. These attractions may include hiking rails, biking trails, ponds, streams, or lakes. The facilities, attractions, and activities found at each mountain cabin rental will all depend on their location.
When searching for mountain cabin rentals, you have a number of locations to choose from. Most cabin rentals can be found in popular mountain ranges. These ranges are located in New York, Pennsylvania, Colorado, North Carolina, Idaho, and Wyoming. To find the perfect summer vacation destination, you are encouraged to examine each area and the cabin rentals that are available.

Once you have found a summer vacation destination that offers mountain cabin rentals, you will need to select a specific cabin to vacation at. Many cabin rentals are grouped together in a specific area. You may find that all cabins in that area are similar. Despite the similarities, you are still urged to examine each specific cabin. Most examinations can be done online or through the mail.
When examining a mountain cabin, it is important that you thoroughly read through all descriptions and request pictures. An extend rental could be fairly expensive. To help determine the outcome of your vacation, you are urged to see pictures. In this case, a picture really does speak a million words. It is important to know how many bedrooms are in a particular cabin, if there is a working kitchen, and an in-house bathroom.
Since many individuals enjoy mountain vacations due to the lack of technology, you may find certain cabin rentals with bathroom facilities and kitchen facilities that are located outdoors. If you enjoy outdoor grilling, this may not be a problem. However, many find outdoor facilities to be inconvenient.
In addition to what each mountain cabin rental has to offer, you should see what is available in the surrounding area. Important facilities that you should be on the lookout for include general stores, gas stations, or laundromats. Without these facilities it is likely that you would have to make extra preparations for your vacation.
As previously mentioned, mountain cabin rentals are often expensive. If you are planning a vacation on a budget, you may want to examine destinations that are not as well-known or as popular. Destinations you may want to avoid include Jacksonhole in Wyoming, the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Carolinas, and the Adirondacks in New York. If these locations were ones that you wished to visit, instead of avoiding the location altogether you can search for discount vacation packages.
Discount vacation packages may be available for mountain cabin rentals; however, they are sometimes difficult to come by. For the most part, discount vacation packages are reserved for resorts. If you are able to unable to find a valuable vacation package, you can try receiving last minute price reductions. While last minute price reductions are convenient, you are advised against planning your vacation around the expectation of getting one.
No matter where to choose to rent a mountain cabin or how much that rental costs, you are sure to have a private, intimate, and memorable vacation. Why vacation at an overcrowded beach when you can schedule your summer vacation in seclusion?

Wheeler Peak Campground
I just reading on this site that Wheeler Peak Campground is ranked the number one campsite in the state of Nevada.
Spectacular! Drive up the scenic Wheeler Peak Drive and step into another facet of Nevada. You start in semi-desert areas with sagebrush, piƱon pines and junipers. Keep climbing and they give way to spruce and Douglas fir. Up top it is extremely beautiful with quaking aspen, limber pine and spruce intermingling in a dense forest, uncharacteristic of Nevada. This whole mountain looks as if it were transplanted out of Colorado somewhere.
Now doesn’t that sound awesome? I searched around and found some pictures also.

This definitely looks like a campground that we have to add to our list of trips.

We didn’t get out yesterday like I had wanted to. I realized there was so much to be done around here, and if I let it go another weekend, it would drive me nuts. I don’t know about you, but a dirty kitchen makes me just so aggravated, and my family is in need of a Raleigh personal injury lawyer, if I find they didn’t clean up after themselves. So I spent the day cleaning and doing laundry. I did find some pictures online to share with you though. Enjoy! We’ll get up there soon enough, I hope.

Flushie’s Summer Vacation
I’m just checking in real quick to let you guys know about the “Right to Know for Clean Waters Campaign.” Basically what American Rivers is trying to support is the passing of legislation that would require the public to be notified when sewage gets dumped into our lakes and rivers.
With your support, they are going to approach Congress in late September with Flushie the talking toilets web site and cartoon. The more people that comment, the stronger the message is to Congress.
So please, do me a favor. Go over and post a comment, upload your picture, and tell them you have the right to know when our lakes and rivers are being polluted with sewage spills.

Grand Canyon Skywalk
One great possibility for an outdoor trip full of natural wonder is visiting the Grand Canyon. You can even walk out onto the Grand Canyon Skywalk and feel like you’re suspended over the canyon itself.

As much as I love nature, and the view from there would be the most amazing thing EVER, I’m not sure if I could walk out on that thing. I do have a small fear of heights at times, but maybe with the shear beauty of the place, I could overcome my fear.
Would you walk out on it?

Mono Lake Kayaking
Last year I wrote about the guided kayaking tours of Lake Mead. It’s geared towards the beginner, and they spend a couple hours teaching you all the basics. Then they launch you out to the lake where you travel to a sand bar for a catered lunch that they provide. It was a really pricey trip, but I want to try it out so bad. I know I could probably find an individual that would be willing to take me out and teach me, but then I’d have to take out some short term insurance in case of accidents. HA! The guided tour offers insurance before you go. I guess they’ve had some trouble before ![]()

But if I learned, I could go out kayaking on Mono Lake in California, a big and mysterious salt water lake. REI is offering it as one of it’s guided tours this summer, and it looks amazing. Isn’t that picture just gorgeous?

Camping On The Beach
This is the first year that I have ever looked into beach camping. We live only about 4 hours from the Pacific Ocean, and there are campgrounds all up and down the coast the California. I went through almost all the sites, and I have narrowed down my spot to take the family to. Pismo Beach. The campground is right on the water, and it looks like an awesome and fun place to spend about a week camping, swimming, boogie boarding, and soaking up the sun.

Prince Goes Camping
The pop star known as Prince again is going camping. Well not the kind of camping that you and I do. In fact, his tent is going to br bigger than my house, or maybe even 5 of my neighbors homes put together. He’s got 21 concerts planned in London this summer and has asked the promoters to erect a giant tent inside the 02 Arena, where his concerts are going to be held.
It really will be the most extravagant tent that has ever been built,” a source revealed to one British newspaper. “It will have luxury bathrooms, kitchens and huge living areas as well as living facilities for staff.
Mmmmkay! He’s not exactly roughing it now is he?

Are We Losing Lake Mead?
About 96 percent of the water in Lake Mead is from melted snow that fell in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming. This is commonly referred to as the “Upper Basin” states. Each year an alloted amount of water is released to serve the needs of Nevada, California, Arizona, and Mexico. This all sounds just dandy now doesn’t it? Well it isn’t.
The amount of water needed for these places is exceeding the amount of water that Lake Mead has, and it’s not going down. In fact millions of homes and businesses are being built here, that demand more water. The need for water increases every year, but the Upper Basin isn’t supplying more. Do you see where I am going with this?
This picture clearly shows what is known as the Lake Mead Bathtub Ring. Yes, that is where the water level use to be, and where it is now.

The water levels at Lake Mead are currently at 1120 feet which puts us in the “Lower Basin” on a drought alert. The news is reporting that the lake is loosing a foot of water every week. That means Lake Mead will be dried up in 21 years, assuming no water ever flowed into it again. It’s time to wake up people, and take this drought seriously. Are your luscious green lawns really that important? Is your sparkling clean car absolutely necessary? Really. Think about it.

We are two people who love to go camping and hiking. We love the outdoors, and we are working on becoming as green as we can be.
